IT’S NOT ACTUALLY THE END OF THE WORLD!
Although it may seem like the worst possible scenario, a rainy wedding day is not a make-or-break
as far as your photos go! Here’s a couple ways to take off the stress of possible rain —
ASK YOUR VENUE WHAT THEIR RAIN PLAN IS.
While selecting a venue, ask what their rain plan is if the ceremony is supposed to be outside! Every venue should have a great back-up plan to still hold a gorgeous ceremony even if it’s rainy. Whether it’s a covered location like a tent, or an indoor space, having a ceremony spot in mind in case of rain will definitely ease your mind.
THINK UP SOME ALTERNATE PORTRAIT OPTIONS.
Scoping out your venue for covered/indoor areas is a great idea, just in case it decides to pour during your portrait time. Our secret weapon, though? 14 clear umbrellas in the back of our car, brought to every wedding, so that the entire bridal party can be covered and still take photos outdoors! We got your back 😉
BE READY TO ROLL WITH THE PUNCHES.
Chances are, the rain will clear up at SOME POINT during your wedding day – and that moment is GO TIME! We’ll run out and get as many portraits as we can while it’s holding off – we’ve NEVER had a rainy wedding day that didn’t give us a least a couple minutes of clear skies to do some speedy outdoor portraits.
EMBRACE IT AND TRUST YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER.
If your wedding day is rainy, odds are, your dress is going to get a bit dirty at some point, and your hair and makeup may get a little messed up – but try not to stress! Stains come out and makeup can be touched up. And if you’re feelin’ it, we will dance it out in the rain with you (and you’ll get some EPIC portraits as a result!)
