Asher and Riley’s May Engagement Photoraphy Session at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond, Virginia.
There’s something about Spring in Richmond that makes engagement sessions feel extra special, especially when it comes to the VA War Memorial Spring engagement.
The flowers bloom. The city softens. And when it all comes together at such a notable location like the VA War Memorial, engagements take on a new charm. It just works.
As a Virginia wedding photo & video team, we spend a lot of time exploring locations that highlight our couples without overwhelming them. The VA War Memorial gives just that—beautiful views, natural light, and open space to roam without crowds or distractions during Spring engagements.
Meet Asher and Riley
We had the best time with Asher and Riley during their VA War Memorial Spring Engagement session.
They’re down-to-earth, kind, and totally into each other. We connected right away.
Asher and Riley met through Hope Church’s young adult group after graduating college. Over a year later, Asher proposed at Maymont on a perfect October evening in 2024. Now they’re planning their July wedding with a ceremony at Hope’s Lodge and a reception at the Country Club of Virginia. This spring engagement at the VA War Memorial was another cherished moment in their journey.
Why We Love Spring Sessions at VA War Memorial
This spot checks so many boxes for Richmond engagement photography, making spring engagements at this location are particularly appealing.
You get an epic skyline, clean lines, lots of open light, and a peaceful atmosphere. For Spring sessions especially, the landscaping looks fresh and polished without competing with the couple.
Plus, the location sits just far enough from downtown to feel calm, but still super close for hopping to your next stop if you want a two-location session.
It’s About Connection
As Virginia wedding photographers, our goal is to create space for you to be yourselves, especially during your VA War Memorial Spring Engagement.
That’s exactly what happened with Asher and Riley. They trusted us, leaned into each other, and stayed present.
So often, people tell us they’re nervous before the session. But by the end, they’re saying it felt more like a date night than a photoshoot. That’s always our goal!
