What’s up cool cats and kittens?
Ashley and Camden here! We’re totally stoked to talk to you guys about today’s topic- ACCESSORIZING!! And at that, accessorizing for MEN. It’s a topic that is rarely addressed but needs to be! You can find countless articles addressing the bride’s attire and accessories (including ours!), but men seem to be overlooked in this department. Plus, we know we’ve got some stylish men in the house. So, let’s get started!
-
Seasonality
Think about the season you are getting married in, as well as the venue! Are you doing an outdoor summer wedding? Or an indoor winter wedding? If you’re going outdoors while it’s warmer- try to stick to lightweight fabrics like linen. If you’re getting married somewhere colder, try thicker materials like wool or velvet! You want to be comfortable during your ceremony, so think about the weather and temperature as you plan your outfit.
-
Colors
Going back into seasonality, color choice can also be impacted by the season. While black, grey, and charcoal suits/tuxes are pretty much always in style, perhaps you may want to kick it up a notch with a color! Don’t be afraid to try jewel tones or pastels- it’s always fun to mix it up a bit. If you want to stick to the more traditional colors with your suit- then incorporate your color with your tie, bow tie, or boutonniere.
-
Personal Touches
Who says that the men have to be stiff and stale? Add in your own personal touches! You can find cuff links made of just about anything on Etsy to express your personal style or show off an interest of yours. Try some fun, crazy socks or have something sewn into your jacket (if you own it that is!). Brides aren’t the only ones who can look stylish!
-
Switch Up Your Accessories
Last but not least, have fun with your accessories! No one says you have to stick to plain black dress shoes and a white button down. Have some fun with it!! Try out two tone shoes or colored shoes or throw on a colored button down. You can also always try out patterns- especially on your tie or bow tie. Florals, stripes, dots, and plaids are all fair game, and can add some interest to your outfit.
No matter what you choose to wear for your big day, just make sure you feel comfortable and like the best version of yourself! You’re going to be looking back at these photos for the rest of your life, and you want to look and feel your best. No pressure though- you’re gonna look great. We promise.
As always, thanks for keeping up with us! Make sure to follow us on IG and FB for all the dad jokes and cat videos you can imagine. Or feel free to send us an email here – and let’s chat all things weddings!!!
Until next time,
