A Winter Wedding at Four Roads at North Mountain
Winter weddings in Virginia can surprise you in the best ways. The day was windy and cold, but the sunshine poured across the mountains surrounding Four Roads at North Mountain, making everything feel bright and joyful. Because of that, every outdoor photo had that crisp winter glow couples hope for in January. The venue itself is such a beautiful setting for celebrations. The mountain views, open fields, and quiet countryside make Four Roads at North Mountain feel peaceful and personal while still offering plenty of space for guests and events. Plus, winter adds a cozy charm you really can’t replicate in other seasons.
A Church Filled With Natural Light
Nathaniel and Jenna chose a church ceremony with stunning natural light. The windows filled the space with soft sunshine, which made every moment—from the vows to the smiles from family—feel warm despite the cold outside. Meanwhile, those bright windows created beautiful, clean photos we love as Richmond wedding photographers. We always tell couples that lighting can transform a ceremony space. This church proved it, giving their ceremony an airy feel while keeping the focus on the emotion between Nathaniel and Jenna. Because of that, their ceremony photos feel timeless and honest.
Cozy Reception Moments at Four Roads at North Mountain
After the ceremony, everyone gathered back at Four Roads at North Mountain for a cozy winter reception. The venue’s fire pits glowed as guests bundled up outside, laughed together, and enjoyed a relaxed evening under the clear January sky. Still, the biggest highlight might have been the food. Nathaniel personally cooked all the food for the wedding. He spent hours preparing smoked chili for their guests, which might be one of the most memorable wedding meals we’ve ever experienced. So, yes, the groom absolutely won everyone over with that move.
