A Rainy Start That Led to Sunshine
The morning kicked off with a downpour while everyone got ready. Honestly, it felt like the kind of rain that might last all day! Thankfully, by the time we headed into their first look at the Country Club of Virginia, the skies started to open.
Even though there was still some mist, the tall white columns at CCV gave us the perfect cover. As Richmond wedding photographers, we love when a space gives us options like that. Having a classic backdrop for portraits makes everything run smoothly, rain or shine.
Ceremony at Hope Church
Next, we drove over to Hope Church, where the ceremony was held. That location carries so much meaning to us personally since it’s also our own church home. Ashley has even sung on the worship team with Riley’s dad, so capturing this wedding felt extra close to our hearts.
The ceremony was emotional, filled with tears, joy, and powerful worship. Everyone sang about the goodness of God, and it was moving in every sense. Being Richmond wedding videographers as well, we knew the recordings from this part of the day would carry so much meaning for years to come.
Back to the Country Club of Virginia
After the ceremony, we returned for more portraits. By that point, the sun had broken through the clouds and gave us golden light across the lawns. Once the reception kicked off, the fun really began. Out of nowhere, Riley’s dad grabbed a microphone and surprised everyone with a song alongside the band. Nobody expected it—not even the bride—and it turned into one of the most unforgettable moments on the dance floor.
